I love when the weather is like this

This weekend was absolutely awesome. You couldn't ask for better weather. Halloween was on a Friday, it was in the upper 60's, there was no need for coats and layering up to go trick-or-treating. The best street in my neighborhood, Glenwood Ave., was lined with people in costumes, crackling fire pits, creepy Halloween music, and wonderful decorations. It was a blast. Jaz and her friend Kendra got a ton of candy and got the chance to see all their friends from school in the process. It was one big party!

Saturday was very relaxing. Andrea, Jaz and I walked around the mall for a bit and then went to work out. Then Jaz got to go and spend the night with Sophie. They had a great time playing and enjoying the weather. Andrea and I had a girls night out and met some friends at Jimmy Oh's for dinner and drinks. It was a blast - laughing and just being our goofy-selves.

Sunday I took some family portraits of my friend and her bunch. Some of them turned out really good, but this one is my favorite. I am still an amateur when it comes to photography, but practice makes perfect. It was my minor in college, but when you don't use your skills everyday you get a bit rusty. Hopefully I will pick it up more. But I am in the need of a digital SLR camera, preferably a Canon. I am currently borrowing one so if anyone has one they are not using or would consider selling, please let me know. Oh and if you would like some family portraits, let me know. I am up for hire. :-)

After I took pictures of Kenzie and her family, I picked up Jaz and she and I drove around the country side and took some landscape pictures. We stopped at Lincoln Memorial Gardens and enjoyed the scenery as well as the fresh air and beautiful trees. I once had someone tell me that they hate fall because it symbolizes death. Ok - I guess I can see that, however I look at it a little differently. I see it as a chance for new life, a fresh start. The science behind the leaves changing colors is interesting. The color that the leaves change is really the color that they are all the time. It's just that chlorophyll takes over during the summer and turns them green. As it gets colder photosynthesis slows down and less chlorophyll is produced and the leaves "true colors" shine. So you see right now you can see "truth". Deep I know, but my take is this - "When the truth is revealed we are all given another chance to start over". So really Autumn should symbolize a fresh start - "Be the change that you want to see in the world". -Gandhi

Happy Fall Everyone!
